How we keep calculators accurate
Our goal is a straight answer you can trust, with the working shown. Here is how we try to earn that trust.
Official sources first
Every regulated figure — tax rates, the super guarantee, leave entitlements — comes from legislation or the relevant agency (the ATO, Fair Work, or ASIC Moneysmart), never from a competitor’s calculator. Each page lists the sources we used and the date the rule takes effect.
Exact, conditional, or estimate
We label every result. An exact result is pure arithmetic with no ambiguity (like GST on a taxable supply). A conditional result depends on a rule or eligibility you told us. An estimate is a lender- or payroll-specific approximation that the real figure may differ from.
We don’t guess the important things
If an essential input or rule is unknown, we ask — or we withhold the number and explain why — rather than show a precise-looking figure that could be wrong. We never silently assume your tax residency, whether super is included in your pay, or how a supply is classified.
Private by design
Every calculation runs in your browser. The amounts you enter are never sent to a server, and our analytics never record salary, loan or debt figures.
These tools provide general information, not financial, tax or legal advice, and don’t imply endorsement by any agency. Spotted something wrong? We’d like to fix it.
